2) Figure out who might have the unmet need: College students are at a point in life where they can begin to create habits that they will carry with them for years. Living a heathy lifestyle is on the minds of many college students, but they often do not have the opportunities to eat the healthiest food in the dining halls and around campus.
3) Come up with a list of questions: This was the easiest part of the assignment for me. I knew what I wanted to find out, so creating a flow of questions that led to my desired answers was very easy.
4) Go talk to customers: I felt that this was somewhat awkward, as many of the people that I interviewed were on their way to study and were in a hurry. No one turned down the interview even after I explained what I would be asking them about. I think this is because we are all college students and have all had to do projects like this.
5) Tell us what you learned about the opportunity: It seems as if my opportunity is certainly needed around campus. I got great feedback of students wanting it, but the main concern was the price point.
Hey Travis, it seems like you had much better luck with the interview process than I did as the first seven people I asked turned me down. It's good to see that there is some interest in people eating healthier foods around campus. I think your idea really could take off as long as, like everyone said, price was within reason. ReplyDeleteHi Travis!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed that your post was easy to follow and your questions were very open-ended. I thought it was a good mix of interviews and that you got a wide range of responses. My one note for next time would just to be aware that in a 2 on 1 interview, one person’s responses might influence the other’s. Although it didn’t seem to make a major difference here, it may be something to consider in the future as you refine your idea. Overall, I thought you did a great job!

I really like your idea and I am also passionate about health and healthy lifestyles. I think especially on a campus like UF's where there is so much privilege people might be willing to look at the benefits over the price. Opening more organic food stores would also be a great idea if you were to partner with sustainable UF or some of the farming organizations on campus that already have their feet wet in those areas. ReplyDeleteI think its interesting how a lot of people are focusing their interviews on health and eating habits. Its also really nice that you kept the text portion short, and allowed the video to fill in. A lot of readers prefer watching something as to reading something. I will point out though that the format is a little bit off after paragraph 2, so try to keep an eye out for that in future posts.
