Elevator Pitch No. 3

Reflection: The only feedback I received was the question of why the large tutoring organizations would come to my location to host their sessions. I addressed that here in my video now for the 3rd time around!

I also wanted to try a more casual approach. My last pitch I did standing outside by a wall. This time I wanted to try and make it seem like my future business partner and I were sitting and just casually talking about potential new businesses we want to start. That is why I did what I did with this video. I hope you enjoyed it.

  1. Hello Travis,
I like your concept of a combination smoothy pit and studying zone. I am an off campus student, but I live in Gainesville. I would probably get the opportunity to use your services. Thinking about your business, it sounds nice being a half mile away from school and having available hammock hooks for students to study and relax. I'm curious about the lay out of your location. It sounds like it would need to be very large to accommodate everyone and everything you described. I know this is probably more detailed then you plan on being but what would you do to attract local business when the college breaks or goes on holiday? I've seen plenty of businesses fail because of no local support when the students are away. With a larger place like what I think you are describing it would be much harder to absorb the loss. Just something to think about. Here is a link to my blog. Check it out if you get the chance.

  2. Hey Travis,
I really like your idea the Smoothie Pit. It would be appealing for both students and tutoring organizations such as Study Edge or Smoking Notes. I have Study Edge and they are located in a smelly ally. I think they'd gladly take you up on your idea. Also having comfortable study rooms and smoothies would draw students and increase Study Edge's or Smoking Notes revenue. I'm not sure if you'd be able to accommodate both tutoring companies given they're competitors so you might have to choose which one. You should check out my blog when you get a chance.
